The problem
Mobile Legends was the most popular gaming choice in Indonesia which 12% of total country’s population were monthly active gamers. The game had drawn attentions from school kids and many were eager to play in a tournament to showcase their skills.
However, despite their enthusiasm, the vast majority hadn’t had the chance to experience the excitement of competing in a tournament due to many factors. How might we create an official tournament for them to self-actualize themselves?
designing for people
I focused on school kids who were excited to compete in an official event. I designed the landing page in a way to reflect the atmosphere of official gaming tournament. Inspired from the layout and design of the Dota 2, I aimed to create a similar and engaging experience with big fonts, empty spaces, and little animations.
I also provided information for fans where they can find the details about upcoming matches, what games were being played, and when everything was happening.
Generative AI
We utilized AI tools, Midjourney, to create images for our brand ambassadors: Rudy Salim and Brisia Jodie, which translated to our main characters in Mobile Legends. These visuals showcased their personalities and their connection to our brand.
Outcomes
We witnessed an influx with over 100,000 visitors. Additionally, it had exceeded expectations with 2,000+ teams and 1,500+ solo players registered, 10,000 tickets sold in the same house solidifying its position as a thriving tournament for MLBB enthusiasts.
